Since 2013, Daewoong through Daewoong foundation have actively contributed to support the development of Indonesian education by providing scholarship for selected students from several universities, such Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Airlangga, and Bandung Institute of Technology.

In order to improve and upgrade the scholarship program, through Daewoong-UI Biotechnology Research Center, we create education program for Daewoong Scholarship Awardee 2018 from Universitas Indonesia. The aim of this program is to upgrade the knowledge of Daewoong Scholarship awardee related analysis of biopharmaceutical products, improving their soft skills of teamwork, and public speaking. Meanwhile, it is also good chances for our researchers in Daewoong-UI Biotechnology Research Center to share information, improve the skills to lead and manage group.
This education program was designed by dividing the students into several focus group discussions, each group is assisted by our researcher as their mentor. Several topics related analysis of biopharmaceutical products were given to each group to be discussed, such Capillary Elecrophoresis (CZE), Spectrophotometer, sodium dodecyl sulfate–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-Page), Western blotting, High Performance Liquid Chromatrography (HPLC), preparative chromatography, etc. The students received education videos of each topic and meet regularly with the mentor according to their group. They will also able to observe directly when our researchers use the instrument for analysis. In the end of the program, gathering event were held for the students to present their discussion. This program was held on June ~ August 2018, and the final presentation was held on August 10th 2018. The gathering event was attended by Mr.Lee Eui Nam as chief of research team, other researchers as mentor and supervisor. As appreciation, we also select and give award to the best and 2nd best team are selected according to their performance during discussion and presentation.
